"Flood" board

A "Flood" board is an offtopic place where posting does not affect your post count. Why do I want one? Well, because we can post just about anything in it without the fear of it not being worthy of the forums. Got a random Youtube link you want to post? Flood board. A forum game? Flood board, because forum games tend to get big, fast, and would otherwise be used to raise one's postcount. A random picture or even thought? Same place.

My suggestion would be to alter "The Recreation Center" so that posts don't count. We don't need 2 offtopic boards.

In the "Flood" board, there are no rules either, other than the good ole forum rules. You can double post, hijack threads (in a non-hostile way). It's all up to the poster, but things do have limit. Sure, you can double post, maybe even triple post, but making 10 posts in 10 seconds, all containing just random letters, is not okay. Neither is starting threads with an average speed of 5 threads/second. Common sense is all I'm going to say.

I tried to avoid calling it a Spam forum since the forum rules, and implicitly Mother, refer to spam as follows:

3) No Spam. Don't sign up to post adverts, or to whore your product, service or website. Contact me if you'd like to discuss a partnership or relationship. Additionally, keep your threads/posts in the most obvious relevant forum.

There's something like this on aLp where EVERYTHING goes. Well, not everything. Actually, yeah.

...Actually, every board on the aLp forum is pretty much general. There was this time someone posted teh pr0nz in the AVP board and we just all went along with it and acted as if it was a forum game.

You guys might not want to take it that far on here, though. Thread-jacking is not unheard of and even common, off-topicness has become on-topic, we speak of stuff most people would find inappropriate... and somehow we're still civilized.

Spam isn't all bad. I mean, I hate just spam-spam where you present random characters and call it a post. As long as it's amusing it's okay. Sometimes I feel the need to encourage it to lighten up the mood of the forum.

Well I've never been a huge fan of spam forums. I think they lower the quality of a forum considerably. I've seen many forums in the past who have struggled for success and then added a spam forum only to have the posts / threads in the spam forum detract from the rest of the forums.

For Off topic stuff we have an Off Topic forum.

The rules are not intended to be overly strict.

I've just added a chatbox to the forum.

You can either click that ^^ link or it sits at the bottom of the forum homepage. It's a good place if you want to post general hellos, drop silly links (not self-whore, you understand) and other hijinks.

Looking back on my post, I think I explained something wrong. It's not that I disagree with having a chatbox, but I didn't mean for aLp to sound like a lesser version of 4chan. The forum was never meant to be strict for AVP discussion so I guess that's why anything can go. We have fun, but we're not senseless.
