I was not too fond of the New/Parents part. But I liked the Sentry Guns scenes. Those were interesting.

I wish Cameron would let us see the Burke cocooned scene. Would of been nice to see as a deleted scene on the Quadrilogy Special Features.

I don,t know about you guys, but with time I learned to hate the special edition with a passion, while on the other hand I learned to fucking love the original on my old VHS player.

When I finally managed to watch these deleted scenes, then I admit I preferred the extended version over the original, but in the end I realized that the original film is better.

That,s why cameron deleted all those scenes, they are not very good.

Same goes to Scott when he deleted all those scenes (I think that the scene when they listen to the Jockey,s voice shouldn,t have been removed anyway).

They did know what scenes had to be removed from their respective films.

When the Aliens Special Editon was first released on VHS fox made the claim that there was only a limited number being made and after that it was to be deleted and no longer produced. Heres one of the old posters that was doing the rounds at the time:

Of course this was all a lie, and they continued to produce them. Everyone used to go mental for copies.

A friend of mine bought that special edition on VHS.

I still have the original one I bought back then in 1986 when I was just a teenager.

I have to say that my VHS copy of aliens is still in perfect conditions after all this time, and I still can watch this movie only in VHS..., when I watch It on my DVD players, then It isn,t just the same.

I still think the original aliens version is better than the extended in any case.

I still have my very first copy of Aliens on VHS to. When Aliens Special edition was first released i tried to get hold of one but they had sold out everywhere. The video retailers would tell me that they were no longer making them once sold out i went mad. But i got one in the end, and it got stolen. Bloody typical.

The Theatical one was the first version I saw, however I do prefer the Special Edition. I love the element of desperation that the Sentry Guns scenes add to the Marines last stand.
