I just hope The Xenomorph is included in it, last I heard they are supposed to.

Another interesting helmet trivia: A terrible 1962 Russian movie called Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet, used a helmet and suit design that we all might recognize!
Get a load of that! Right down to the quilted suit cloth and hose around the neck. Coincidence? Hard to imagine a coincidence like that. What do you guys think? |

![]() ![]() On a more serious note I am a little nervous about the whole "humans were created by the Jockey aliens" idea hinted at in the trailers (such as the big human face on board the derelict). Makes the xeno's origins less . . . I dunno, "alien" too me. Then again the only thing that will likely suffer is my needless fanon (and not to mention the Anchorpoint Essays needing a major revamp). As long as it delivers a rock solid blockbuster, I will likely go to the theaters more than once.

The anchorpoint essay is another point of view more of the many existing around, not a reference for anything but for those who may like It a lot. Btw, It is heavily influenced by "Aliens". Basically, It tries to scientifically explain something that belongs to the realm of fantasy, which is at the very least quite a fail, not just that the obvious influence of the "Aliens" film in that reading could be interpreted as a big con for the old cavemans like me.
I have read true interesting points of view about the alien in the past that avoided being scientifically correct. Sadly, that was a looong long time ago and there wasn't internet here yet. All I can remember about It is that, many of these points of view I'm talking about had Its similarities with what Scott is definitely going for in Prometheus (more based on "Alien", not in "Aliens" like the anchorpoint essay). Some people may find these old similarities I'm talking about just as matter of chance, but in fact they were all based on a better understanding (always from the very necessary fantasy point of view, just what the AE lacks) of the things seen in Scott's masterpiece, specially about all Giger-ish stuff plaguing the first act of the film. Cameron's influence on the very conceptual idea of the monster has been devastating over the years, reaching with the release of that essay Its maximum exponent of simplicity even when the autor explains Its thoughts on the monster in a very deeply, comprehensive, and of course (where he excels at) professional way. |
