Actually looking at it after a few watches, Alien 3 definitely had some great moments and the ending always makes me a little weepy (in a manly sense ). However it is still the second worst of the four films in my book. Yet it is not completely horrible . . . although the "redshirting" of Hicks, Newt and Bishop was (and always will be) unforgivable.

As for my vote, well I do love the corps but my all time favourite is Ridley's "Alien". It has a great atmosphere about it and the entire cast is just great. Not to mention that the film was scored by one of my most favourite film soundtrack composers of all time - Jerry Goldsmith. It was definitely a masterpeice of both science fiction and horror in my opinion. "Aliens" was an excellent sequel but an all together different beast and in my opinion the climax of the Alien saga. However, I love the overture of this saga the best of all.

Ya, Alien 3 is the second worst, but only because Alien and Aliens were legendary. By comparison it had many faults, but if you take it out of the trilogy, as it was then, it's a stand out movie in it's own right. I think it's an incredible movie of a great story; and having no guns after the kick ass Aliens, was GENIUS not folly.

I still can't get into Alien 3. Just the though of not being able to get a feel for the characters turned me off from the movie. and yes..... alien resurrection of god awful!!
