Marines should have gotten a "Trophy Kill" system

Ive personally loved everything about AVP except for this. All of the marines in the game have a combat knife visible some where on their armour/equipment webbing, so why couldnt this have been used for them to preform "trophy kills"? Well maybe not full on trophy kills (We'd see alot of people trying to do rambo stunts) but why couldnt this have been used for when a predator or alien is attempting to do a trophy kill on them, for instance when the predator picks up a marine in order to rip his head, what if (for a split second) the marine has the ability to "grapple", pull out his knife and say stab the predator in the neck, or the alien in the top of the head?

Just something that has been bothering me since the demo, the marines have sort of been given the bunks down hill of the latrine in this game (as most people see it, I think its decently balanced but w/e), I thought that this would have been a cool addition (since they are MARINES after all), thoughts?

You can use your knife as a Marine though, right? My understanding is that you're able to get a melee kill. Which would be truly awesome, IMO. I haven't played the Marine campaign yet. In fact, I am only part way through the Pred campaign which is the first I tried.

you can get a melee kill but its the usual rifle hit/ pistol whip type deal, the knifes are more or less for show it seems

Nope you can't sadly, melee is restricted to hitting with the butt of the gun as far as i found it.

Thought the marine campaign ending was a bit rubbish imo. But now I am having some fun as the predator, which has started well i think.

I enjoyed the Pred campaign. The stealthy options and distance kills were awesome. Although is often became a melee grudge match vs the Xenos.

Pesonally I think the reason they would have not added a marine trophy kill would be that it would melt if acid blood hit it, and if you tried to stab the predator he would catch or stop your arm and brick it if the marine tried anything like that, but even if you tried to get a silent kill from the back a predator would get stabbed and survive it then grab both your arms throw you forward and violently kill you then heal himself

I think Marines atleast could have done a TK on something with an animation of a marine putting its rifle against a alien head and shooting

I dont know, stabbing a predator in the throat seems like itd be fairly effective

Shooting him in the face from a distance, more effective. ;o)
