Cameron involved in Aliens Colonial Marines?

Interesting snippet of info found over at Gameplayer:

Gearbox Software has trademarked the name Pandora for the planet used in the game Borderlands. Problem is, James Cameron’s Avatar also includes a planet called Pandora. I got chatting with the charismatic Randy Pitchford – nice bloke – about whether or not he was going to tell Mr. Cameron where to go. He pointed out it was a delicate situation as they need to work with the famous director on Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Interesting and also a little incredulous. Would the Great Mr. Cameron be involved with the development of Aliens Colonial Marines? I thought he'd have bigger fish to fry. I guess we'll have to ask the question....

I sure as hell hope so. I've seen his Aliens earlier, for the umptieth time, and I can safely say he's a genius.

It would be a coup to have him involved, but since these guys are normally working for multi millions of dollars, I struggle with the logic of being involved in this. I've asked the Q over at GBX.

Yeah, I came across it earlier aswell actually. I figured it would be strange to have a film director be part of a videogame, but you never know. It certainly could pose good news for the game to have profesional advice there.

Every game needs a story. I guess that would be his involvment. If he is involved.

Let's be optimistic, alright? After all, the snippet does not say that Gearbox 'might' be working with him, but that they 'need' to. Not too optimistic though-- we don't want to end up dissappointed because things didn't turn out to be exactly how we expected.

EDIT: Oh well, seems that our optimism ends here. A dev working on A:CM has confirmed on the Gearbox forums that Cameron is, in fact, not working with them:
