Aliens: Colonial Marines resurfaces
Mother Mother is offline 02-26-2010, 05:46 PM

On Monday, industry magazine MCV will be featuring an interview with Randy Pitchford where (it is hoped) he'll discuss some details of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Randy Pitchford describes licence as “the thing I've been stealing from all my career”

Having missed its 2009 release date, Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines has been TBC on the publisher’s release schedule for some time now – but Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has once again began hyping the upcoming licensed title.

“We have an Aliens game with Sega and 20th Century Fox which we're really excited about,” he told MCV. “It’s the thing I've been stealing from all my career. Now I'm really working on it, but we've been quiet about that so far.”

Sega’s appetite for the title is likely to have been ramped up following the success of Rebellion’s recent release Aliens vs Predator, which shot straight to the top of the ELSPA GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40 this week.

Check back on Monday for the interview.

I'm afraid he,ll say nothing, as always. It,s been 5 years of complete silence and zero interaction with the fans, why should It be different now?, avp has just been released and I don't think he is saying anything worthy about ACM till the end of the summer or so, maybe christmas, or maybe never as GB always do in regards with this game.

We'll be lucky if we are hearing something the next year.

Well someone over at Gearbox forums suggested that the NDA would become less strict at the end of February and beginning of March so it would make some sense for them to have it March 1st.

I can imagine what he's saying tomorrow: "Yeah as we have said for the 100000th time during these long 5 years since we announced ACM, we are hardcore A L I E N S fans, and we are so excited about being able to develop this game and blah blah blah, BUT we STILL can not talk about It, so stay tuned for another century more".

Haven't we seen this in the GB forums for a hundred of times at least Chris?, tomorrow will probably be the same shit as always.

Its not Gearbox though. Its Sega. And now that Gearbox only has ALIENS:CM to work on I think its Sega's reasoning for putting it in the dark even more.

Anywho while this "bump" is still somewhat fresh (Yeah right!) it might be good to discuss a little more on the subject.

From what I read last year there would be scenarios where you would have to deal with waves of Xenomorphs, however not entirely like Survival in the AvP games where you're running around looking for Aliens to shoot and its basically endless. You have to basically hold your line until the xenos stop and look for alternatives. In order to hold them off, you are given sentry guns to set up, Weld torch to weld doors shut, and of course you're motion trackers to help know which way they're coming from.

Now some things that would interest me is that when less xenomorphs start focusing on getting the drop on you, you get your squad and take a less infested route to escape and of course take a breather. You won't have enough ammo to kill every single one so take advantage of flight so you can survive a little longer. Also finding the bodies of some of the previous Colonial Marines would be pretty cool (Not like Hicks, Gorman, Vazquez, and Drake. But Hudson, Apone, and Frost, to name a few). Plus finding their weapons for extra ammo helps.

Most of their bodies would be incinerated though.
