The games may be fun but its better off that the two franchises were split again.

Really?? I thought the movies (at least) sucked ass. The games were good though; but the movies made more money.

I hated those movies too unless I convinced my self the ALIEN and PREDATOR movies did not exist while watching them.

As a little bit of disposable cinema, the first movie at least was not so bad. As long as, as Chris suggested, you ignore the individual Alien and Predator movies, the AvP movie was not all that bad.

People take AvP way to seriously. If you just watch it without any expectations, aka, watch it just to see some predators and aliens kick each others asses, then I'm pretty sure most people would be fairly entertained.
I saw both of those movies with that attitude, and I enjoyed both of them for what they were. They're pretty shitty movies when it is all said and done, but at least they kept me entertained throughout. You just need to lighten up a bit before watching it. And the first one was definitely better. >_>

Exactly right. As a standalone movie, at least the first one was enjoyable.

I actually liked way more the second, that predator is cool
Anderson put all avp fans to shame imo, It,s a shameful director. Look at what he did to resident evil too..., anything this guy touches = fail |

AvP (the first) was actually a good damn movie. I'm sorry but that movie was badass. I have to say AvPR was pitiful though, a waste of time and money. If they make a third AvP movie it should begin where AvP left off and completely ignore AvPR.
In other news it's good to hear they're going back to the series' routes, I would like to see the mythos of the Acheron (Kane's Son) creature explored further, as in what the Xenomorph was originally intended to be. Like an unstoppable killing machine, that could not be killed. Maybe they'll explain why Kane was so much more powerful than his brethren in A:CM, maybe male aliens being in "heat" in all of the follow ups has something to do with it? Maybe Aliens are better alone perhaps? (Thoughts abuzz) |

I had a theory as for the first Xeno being stronger or appearing to be stronger. But I have forgotten about that theory because it was too complicated. Instead I believe that Xenos can adapt to anything and that the Xenos in ALIENS would have eventually adapted to the fire power that the Marines brought with them and in turn the Xenos would have been able to counter that both physically and mentally.
