Personally I think that game music is incredibly important for the entire atmosphere of a game and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kevin creates.

Music in a game (or a movie even) is like an emotional dialogue and is just as important as the written word to move the story forward. As games become more and more immersive, the quality of music (like all design aspects) will only have to get higher and higher. I think Kevin is going to do a wonderful job with the score, I can see the style of music for an Aliens game fitting right in with a lot of his work to date. Damage Vault stuff even.

As strange as it may sound to say this, I think sometimes the best written scores are the ones that go unnoticed by the player. If the music sets and fits the mood of the scene / area so well that you don’t notice that there’s music playing (you’re just immersed in the game) . . . well I think that’s when a composer has done their job well. It’s like salt in a lot of ways, if used in the proper way it enhances everything . . . if done poorly it can ruin a game.

Anywho, I hope that they make the score available for sale before / after the games comes out so I can buy it.

The music in Gears of War 2 was not bad. I think this guy will be able to make some good music for A:CM.
